How the round robin generator works

A round robin is the fairest format for a small group: every player or team faces every other one exactly once (or twice, in a double round robin). This tool uses the standard circle (or "polygon") rotation method, so the pairings are balanced and no one plays the same opponent back-to-back.

How many rounds will I have?

With an even number of entrants you get N − 1 rounds. With an odd number you get N rounds, and one player sits out each round (a "bye"). This generator adds and rotates the bye automatically so everyone rests the same amount.

How are courts assigned?

Within each round, matches are spread across the number of courts you enter. If a round has more matches than courts, the extras play in a second wave on the same courts — labeled so nobody's guessing.

Singles or doubles?
